Hysteroscopy
Inspection of the uterine cavity by hysteroscope (endoscope) with access through the cervix under spinal anesthesia. It is both diagnostic (for intrauterine pathology) and surgical (operative hysteroscopy)
Hysteroscopy is indicated for:
- Intrauterine adhesions
- Endometrial polyps
- Adenomyosis
- Submucosal fibroids
- Uterine malformations
- Removal of embedded IUDs
- In selected cases removal of retained products of conception
