Instilling of normal saline into the amniotic cavity
Indications:
-
Repetitive variable deceleration (umbilical cord compression);
-
Meconium stained amniotic fluid (reduce the incidence of meconium aspiration syndrome – MAS);
-
Severe oligohydramnios (helps in showing fetal sonographic imaging).
-
Failed external cephalic version (ECV)
-
Preterm premature rupture of membranes ( One third of cases have shown that adequate amniotic fluid is maintained with amnioinfusion).
